OFFERING OPEN KNITTING, & KNIT / CROCHET CLASSES!

Special classes can be scheduled for private groups or private groups can rent the classroom for their own use. Just contact Rosemary at gifts@maine-crafts.com .

"OPEN KNITTING"

Open Knitting is our social knitting time and everyone is welcome to join us.
Bring a project, bring a friend and join in the fun!




"CLINIC"
EVERY THURSDAY MORNING.......10 - 12 NOON.

The "Clinic" is for knitters and crocheters who are stuck on a project and need a little help or if you don't understand what your pattern wants you to do next. I will try to help you out.



"CLASS SCHEDULE"

PRE-REGISTRATION AND PRE-PAYMENT is required for all classes. Please contact Rosemary to get signed up today.
Refunds are only available if you cancel no later than 5 days prior to the start date of the class or if Rosemary has to cancel the class.

All classes are limited to SIX STUDENTS so sign up early to ensure you will get a spot!



LEARN TO KNIT: Friday, February 3, 2012, 5:30 - 8:00 PM

Cost: $25.00 (This price includes the pattern that I wrote and enough yarn to make this cute "My Neck Hugger" scarf)
Instructor: Rosemary Libby

In this class you will be taught how to cast on using the long tail method, how to do the knit and purl stitch, how to increase and decrease and will be instructed how to read and understand your pattern while you knit this cute beginner scarf that is done in a seed and rib stitch.

Other supplies you will need to bring to class will be a 9" size US 8 straight knitting needles, scissors and a tapestry needle. These can all be purchased at Rosemary's Gift & Yarn Shop if you do not have them already.



BASIC SOCKS ON DOUBLE POINT NEEDLES: Friday, February 10, 2012, 5:30 - 8:00 PM PM

Cost: $25.00 (this includes a kit containing the yarn and pattern needed for your sock)

Instructor: Rosemary Libby

Pre-requisit for this class is that you already know how to cast on, knit and purl.

This class will teach you sock basics and sock construction of cuff, turning the heal, and completing the toe using a kitchener stitch by knitting a baby sock from the cuff down on double point needles. Once you master a basic sock on double points you can then knit socks using various yarns, and sock sizes. This pattern covers sizes from baby through adult.

Other supplies you will need to bring to class are a set of 5" #5 double point needles, one stitch marker and a tapestry needle . If you do not have them already you will be able to purchased them at Rosemary's Gift & Yarn Shop when you arrive.



LEARN FAIR ISLE KNITTING: Friday, February 17, 2012, 5:30 - 8:00 PM

Cost: $25.00 ( This price includes this FairIsle hat pattern that I designed and enough yarn to knit it.)
Instructor: Rosemary Libby

Pre-requisite for this class is that you already know how to cast on, knit and purI.

In this class you will learn how to knit
FairIsle, where two colors are knit alternately across a row while unused colors are stranded across the back. This class will teach you how to strand in the round as well as knitting back and forth so you also master the technique of stranding on a purl side row.

Other supplies you will need to bring to class are 9" size US 7 straight knitting needles, stitch markers, scissors and a tapestry needle. These can all be purchased at Rosemary's Gift & Yarn Shop if you do not have them already.



BASIC TOE-UP SOCKS ON TWO CIRCULAR NEEDLES: Friday, February 24, 2012, 5:30 - 8:00 PM


Cost: $25.00 (this includes a kit containing enough yarn and a pattern for a pair of baby socks)
Instructor: Rosemary Libby

Pre-requisit for this class is that you already know how to cast on, knit and purl.

This class will teach you how to knit a Basic Toe-Up Sock using two circular needles. You will learn the cast-on method, knitting the toe, creating the heel, knitting the cuff and how to do a sewn bind off.

Other Supplies you will need to bring to class will be: 16" and 24" Size 5 circular needles and a tapestry needle. I prefer the Addi needles for my socks as the yarn flows easily while moving stitches from one end to the other. These can be purchased at Rosemary's Gift & Yarn Shop if you do not have them already.
