OFFERING OPEN KNITTING, CLINIC, & KNIT / CROCHET CLASSES!


Open Knitting is our social knitting time and everyone is welcome to join us. It is free and fun!


All Classes or Clinics will require you to pre-register and pre-pay. Please contact Rosemary to get signed up today. Refunds are only available if you cancel no later than 5 days prior to the start date of the class or if Rosemary has to cancel the class.

Special classes can be scheduled for private groups or private groups can rent the classroom for their own use. Just contact Rosemary at gifts@maine-crafts.com .


The Classes and Clinic are limited to six students so sign up early to ensure you will get a spot!

SPECIAL CLASS and CLINIC SCHEDULE


LEARN TO KNIT THE CONTINENTAL WAY: Friday, July 30, 2010, 5:30 - 8:00 PM
"NOT JUST ANY DISHCLOTH"!

Cost: $25.00 (This includes a kit containing a pattern booklet and a skein of yarn)
Instructor: Rosemary Libby

Continental knitting otherwise known as German or European knitting, is done with the yarn held in the left hand as apposed to English knitting where the yarn is held in the right hand.
In this class you will be taught how to cast on, knit and purl using the Continental knitting method while making a dishcloth.
Other supplies you will need to bring to class will be a size US 7 straight knitting needles and two stitch markers. These can be purchased at Rosemary's Gift & Yarn Shop if you do not have them already.

CLINIC: Sunday, August 1, 2010, 2:00 - 3.30 PM
Cost: $5.00

The Clinic is where you come to when you have a problem with your knit or crochet project! Now don't just stick it in a bag and try to forget about it. I can help you correct the problem and get it finished!

LEARN TO CROCHET: Friday, August 6, 2010, 5:30-8:00 PM
"SPLISH.....SPLASH"!

Cost: $25.00 (This includes a kit containing a dishcloth booklet and cotton yarn)
Instructor: Rosemary Libby

This class will teach you how to chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, double and treble crochet while you create a great dishcloth for yourself or for a gift to a friend!

Other supplies you will need to bring to class will be: A size G crochet hook and a tapestry needle which can be purchased at Rosemary's Gift & Yarn Shop if you do not have them already.

SIMPLE BEGINNERS SCARF (English or Continental Knitting): Friday, August 13, 2010, 5:30 - 8:00 PM

Cost: $25.00 (This includes a kit containing the pattern and enough yarn to make a scarf)
Instructor: Patrice Massey

In this class you will be taught how to cast on, knit and purl using your choice of English or Continental method. You will be instructed how to read and understand your pattern and knit this cute beginner scarf.

Other supplies you will need to bring to class will be a 9" size US 8 straight knitting needles and two stitch markers. These can be purchased at Rosemary's Gift & Yarn Shop if you do not have them already.
